#2.  Here we have a side knife made by and marked "Marsh Bro's & Co. Celebrated Cutlery". Blade is also marked on one side "THE HUNTERS COMPANION" I believe the 2 piece grip to be horn held securely by three pins. The cross guard and sheath tips upper and lower I believe to be of German silver. The sheath remains in good condition retaining the upper and lower mountings as well as the frog button which has some looseness but is still secure. As you look at the 6 & 3/4 in. blade you can see that it has been sharpened more than once. This appears to me to have been a working knife and not meant to be hung on a wall or kept in a dresser drawer awaiting a collector of pristine knifes some decades later. $595.00
